Sonic Boom 2014 tickets now available!

Sonic Boom 2014 tickets are now on sale. Sonic Boom will be held at  Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom in New York City. The price is higher than last year and the tickets cost $33.

Events at Sonic Boom 2014 include:

• Live performances by Sonic musicians Jun Senoue, Tomoya Ohtani, Ted Poley and Tony Harnell
• Sonic the Hedgehog trivia, Costume Contest, and Giveaways
• Playable demos of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for Wii U and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for Nintendo 3DS

Sonic Boom Archie Comic Book revealed

Archie has announced a comic book adaptation of Sonic Boom. Notable features of the comic will include:

• The stories in the comic will be stand alone adventures, separate from the cartoon and video games presumably. Despite this, they will be building up to some awesome stuff happening later on.
• Ian Flynn will be handling writing, who also does Archie’s Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Universe comics, while the art will be done by veteran artist Evan Stanley.
• The first arc will focus on setting the tone for the series and the character relationships between the main cast as well as a recurring killer robot.
• It’s unknown if Metal Sonic will appear in the comic but they will be plenty of surprises down the line for developing the game characters and mythology.
• The series is a more casual read which is more focused on comedy and adventure rather than the main comic’s focus on action-adventure drama.
• Sonic and Tails are pretty unchanged from their main series counterparts, their designs, Knuckles is goofier but still has the friendly rivalry that has defined the dynamic between him and Sonic, Amy is the sensible one of the group, at least for most of its parts.
• Stick’s personality makes a great addition to the existing cast, according to Kaminski.
• There’s also plenty of Eggman to look forward to.
• Issue 1 will come with four cover variants.

Also the existing Sonic comics (Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Universe and Sonic's Super Digest) will continue.

Sonic Jump Fever to launch on Thursday

The sequel to 2012's Sonic Jump, Sonic Jump Fever, launches on iOS and Android on Thursday following a soft-launch in Canada in April. The game will be a free-to-play title, as opposed to a paid download which Sonic Jump (2012) is.

Happy 23rd Birthday, Sonic

Sonic is now 23rd today!

The 23rd of June 1991 was the year when Sonic the Hedgehog was introduced. It was also the day when speed came to the videogame world and since then, Sonic's speed has still been unrivalled, especially in that world. Introduced to rival Mario. When Sega left the console business in 2001, Mario & Sonic have since settled their differences. And for the first time since the 1990's, Sega is now rebooting the brand with the Sonic Boom universe of TV shows, merchandise and videogames, which will be known in Japan under the name of Sonic Toon and a feature film from Sony Pictures, which is not related to the Sonic Boom universe and will be live-action/CGI mix film.
